Notification Preferences — Email, SMS, Push
Choose which notifications reach you and how — email, SMS, push, or any combination. Plus how host-specific notifications work.
Three channels
Let's Mahj Together can reach you three ways: email (always available), SMS (requires a verified phone number), and push notifications (requires the iPhone or Android app, coming soon). You can mix and match for each notification type.
Notification types
In Account → Notification Preferences you can toggle email and SMS independently for each event: Game Invites (a game near you needs players), Game Updates (your confirmed game details changed), and Game Reminders (before your game starts).
Host-only notifications
If you're a Priority host, you also see two additional toggles: Game Filled (your game has enough players) and Player Activity (someone joined or left your game). These let you stay on top of your hosted games without checking the app.
Push notifications
When you log into the mobile app, your device push token is registered automatically. We then send push notifications alongside SMS for every invite, cancellation, and update. You don't need to do anything to enable this — just install the app and stay logged in.
Group SMS opt-in
In Account → SMS & Sharing you can opt in to group SMS with your tablemates. When enabled, players in the same game can text each other directly to coordinate (e.g., "Running 5 min late"). This is separate from system notifications and is off by default.
Sharing your phone with hosts
Also in SMS & Sharing: you can choose whether hosts can see your phone number after you join their game. When on, hosts can text you directly. When off, all communication goes through Let's Mahj Together — you'll only receive email notifications, no direct SMS from the host.
