How does MajhMatch find players near me?
When you sign up, you set your home location (address or zip code). When a host creates a table, MajhMatch notifies all players within the chosen radius via SMS and/or email.
Do I need to download an app?
No. MajhMatch works via SMS and the web. Sign up at majhmatch.com, verify your email and optionally your phone, and you're ready. Respond to table invites by texting JOIN.
Can I play with just 3 players?
Yes! Mahjong can be played with 3 players using the ghost/Sadie rule. When creating a table, you specify how many players you need — 1, 2, 3, or more.
What's the difference between Priority and Standard?
Priority ($10/mo) members can host tables and are notified immediately when tables open. Standard ($5/mo) members can join tables and are notified 15 minutes later.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 30 days free at the Standard level. No credit card required. After the trial, choose Priority ($10/mo) or Standard ($5/mo).
Can I host a table?
Yes. Any player can host. Create a table with your venue, time, number of players needed, and search radius. MajhMatch handles the notifications.
What about group texts?
During onboarding, you can opt in to group SMS so players at your table can coordinate. It's optional — hosts can see who opted in and plan accordingly.
What mahjong styles are supported?
