Hosting Your First Game

Hosting games requires a Priority subscription ($10/month). This keeps the host pool intentional — you're committing to coordinate a game, and your Priority status signals to invited players that you're serious.

The first time you host a game, you'll be asked to read and acknowledge our safety guidelines. This is a one-time step (unless we update the policy, in which case you'll re-acknowledge before your next game). You can read the full policy at letsmahjtogether.com/terms.

Click "Find Players" on the web or "Host a Game" on mobile. Search for your venue address using the autocomplete (type "Greenwood Village Community Center" or your home address), pick a date and time, choose how many players you need (3, 4, 5, or 6), select your game type, and pick a search radius (1–50 miles).

The venue name is what players see in their invite ("My House", "Cherry Hills Library", "Tuesday Game at Sarah's"). Make it descriptive enough that returning players recognize it but neutral enough that you're not sharing personal info before they join.

As soon as you create the game, Priority players within your radius get instant SMS, push, and email invites. After 15 minutes, Standard and Free Trial players get notified — if seats are still open.

On your dashboard, you'll see your hosted games with current player count (e.g., "2/4 confirmed"). When a player joins or leaves, you get a notification. Once your game is full, all confirmed players see the full venue details.

If you need to cancel, open the game and tap Cancel Game. All invited and accepted players are automatically notified by SMS and push. Cancel as early as possible to give players time to find another game.
